Not quite sure if i am in write place for these, but have a couple of questions
First, what size crate would you recommend, would really like it to fit folded up in our zafira (brought for our new puppy!!!), but also want it big enough for puppy to be comfortable in!!
Also can any one recommend good Dally books?
and this one may sound a bit strange but looking at dog beds, some people say get a big one to start with and others say get a small one and any colors that work best (think either light so it dont show too much hair, or dark so it dont show too much mud or go for something like pink(i want one!!!) hehe my hubbie would love that!!!!
thanks in advance!!!!

Personally I would say the bigger the better: We went for the biggest one we could get for Bailey and put a dog bed in one corner and a puppy pad in another so she knew she where to go for a wee during the night, as she grew and the puppy pads stopped being used I took her bed out, which she was quickly outgrowing, and filled the bottom of the crate with one huge dog bed. Bailey stopped using her crate at about a year old as such the crate was folded up and put away.
When we got Phinias we got the crate out and have done the same as we did with Bailey: bed in one corner and puppy pad in another - he no longer wees during the night but does enjoy tearing his puppy pads to bits so as off tonight no puppy pads.
Our crate is black, nothing to do with colours as it was the only colour we could get the biggest crate in, and as we clean it out every morning (puppy wee does not stay on the puppy pad and leaks if there is a lot of it!) hair is not an issue.
If you are concerned about hair take a peek at Yumega on Lisa's site ( http://dalamanti.co.uk/shop.aspx ) it reduces sheding and I would recommend it to anyone.
Regarding books there are loads of very good books, however my favourite is not for Dalmatians but is called "puppy training for dummies" even though we have had dogs all our lives there was so much in this book that we had never considered, and we learnt a lot from it (buy it on-line as it is £19 a copy) our copy has been borrowed by loads of people, and is currently on loan to our dog trainer.
Books that I own include:
Dalmatians by Catherine Gore
Absolutely beginners guide to showing your dog by Cheryl S Smith
Good showing by Peggy Grayson
Foyles handbooks for pet lovers: Dalmatians
One thing I always do when reading a book is ensure the author has spelt Dalmatian with an A not an O using my personal logic that the author is referring to UK Dalmatians as our breed standard is different to the USA
Hope all of this was of some use? _________________ Sandie aka Donothing
