Today the 1st. of September 2010 a 5 year old (I think, no papers) died after an operation with complications.

He was the first male Dalmatian I had ever kept, the shortest life but the most fulfilling.

He was rescued from a marriage split in Solihull without assessment and could not have been a greater companion right from the start. He desperately wanted to share everything and could be relied upon to stick his nose into whatever when he was least expected.

I now have this enormous hole where he used to be, as I'm sure everyone understands, hopefully his legacy will be another rescue with as many endearing qualities.

Regards, Peter Charles Fagg

Thank you for giving him a lovely home even if only for a short time. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time and hope you can find some consolation in the happy memories of him. He already has made an enduring loving legacy if you are even thinking of filling you spotty shaped hole.

My sincere sympathy for your loss, it is heart breaking for you. At least you have the knowledge that you gave him a happy and loving life, and at some time in the future may be able to able to offer the same to another fortunate spot.

My most sincere thanks to all who have responded.

Even though Dalmatians have been sharers of life throughout my 60 odd years, I had never known quite a character as Hugo, perhaps he was a one-off!

I just wish that another would have some, if not all of his endearing features.

Regards, Peter.

I was so sorry to hear your news David and my thoughts are with you. It is hard enough to lose one of our special pets when they are old but it is even harder when they are young. However it sounds like you have some very special memories of your boy to remember him by.
