It is with great sadness that I have to write this. Archie was PTS last night due to serious and deteriorating behavoural problems. We had tried everything possible but came to the conclusion after a particularly bad weekend that there was no other option.

We will remember the good times, he was a bright dog who could not get over an awful start to life.

RIP Archie, go and find Oliver who will look after you.

I'm so sorry. You must be heartbroken at being forced into such a decision.

I'm so sorry - and how very courageous of you to post this at a time when you must be hurting so badly. Although sad, well done for having the very real bravery to do the kindest thing for this poor little dog. I hope you feel better soon

love Maggi xx

Knowing the circumstances and knowing Archie's problems, giving him sleep was the kindest thing you could do for him. You gave him your best which is all you can do. Our thoughts are with you, the family and Archie, may he rest in peace.

Thank you all for your thoughts, it has really helped me to come to terms with our loss. On Sunday it will be 3 weeks since we had to make the awful decision and I am still hurting so much but when I think rationally I know that it was the only decision we could make. When I am being irrational though I feel only guilt and will always wonder if there was anything else we could have done.

We will always remember him and miss him terribly despite all the problems.
