We put Barney (Nelmside Noble Knight - 05.02.95-04.03.09) to sleep in March at the grand old age of 14 to prevent him from further suffering from his failing back legs. It was the hardest decision I have ever had to make, but I know it was the right one for him and I think we made it before the pain became too much for him to bear.

He was my first and only dog and I miss him and the house and garden seem empty without my spotty friend.

Rest in Peace Barney and sorry for your loss Liza I can't imagine how empty it must seem without the huge presence of your baby.

I always will understand your loss.

A beautiful Dall is the light at the dawn of the day and the soft twilight of love at the end of the day.

Barney is a peace- bless hss socks, he will look upon you from his kennel in th sky- remembering what a fanastic life you gave him.

All huggs,
Noreen and Sasha xx

Thank you for your messages. I can't believe it's only been four months since he's gone. Everytime I clear the plates after dinner I still look for him to come and snaffle a forbidden treat (or try and scrounge something when I am cooking). I am working on my other half to think about having another dog although he/she will never replace Barney. It still feels wrong indoors without him, but I suppose after 14 years it will do for some time to come.
