The British Dalmatian Club are pleased to announce that they will be holding a Breed Appreciation Day and subsequent Multiple-choice Breed Standard Examination (BAD & MCE), plus a Group Mentoring Session for those eligible, all to be held in line with the Kennel Club Judges Education Programme (JEP).

The morning comprises a Breed Presentation aiming to reinforce the basic knowledge required to establish a candidate’s understanding and appreciation of the breed, in order to undertake a subsequent Multiple-Choice Breed Standard Exam (dependent on eligibility – see below).

Attending the Breed Appreciation Day (BAD) and passing the Multiple-Choice Breed Standard Exam (MCE) is part of the criteria that will enable the candidate to attain Level 2 status in the JEP.

Subjects covered in the morning will include a brief history of the breed, function of the breed and its correlation to its conformation and movement, and elaboration on breed specifics. All elements of the standard will be covered, and there will be live exhibits. The exam will be before lunch.

Multiple-Choice Exam (MCE) Eligibility. Candidates wishing to undertake the Multiple-choice Exam must either already be approved to award CC’s, or be at least a Level 1 Judge. Level 1 candidates must provide documentary proof, at time of registration, that they meet the all of the requirements below:

● minimum of 5 years proven interest in pedigree dogs ● attend a Requirements of a Dog Show Judge seminar (but not mandatory to take and pass examination) ● attend a Conformation and Movement seminar ● complete a minimum of 2 full day stewarding appointments

In the afternoon there will be a Group Mentoring Session for those who are eligible.
