Paignton 2007 Judged by Mrs, Ilex Whiting
Many thanks to the exhibitors for making the long journey, I thoroughly enjoyed judging the breed today and had a small but quality entry. Temperament was excellent. The wind made many dogs act like skittish racehorses but I felt movement had improved considerably since last time I judged, only a couple could have knitted a complex cable pattern. Fronts are not perfect, with short/steep upper arms still very much in evidence. Coats presented a few problems which I sometimes forgave as the dog overall was better than its rivals. Thanks to the efficiency of Trish and my other steward I managed to complete judging well in time for the group. I was delighted to see my BOB win the Group and then go Best in Show, & was positively ecstatic when my BOB Vizsla went reserve BIS. It’ll be a long time until I have such a good day!

Black with lovely spotting on pure white background. Kind head and expression with nice dark eyes. Good bone, correct construction, level topline and good tail carriage. Moved soundly with long striding action, driving well from strong quarters, front could be tighter.
2nd: LETCH KASHTANG PACIFIC ECLIPSE Very sound on the move from all angles, covering plenty of ground from the side. Good construction all round. A little overdone in spotting.

1st: STOCKS DALMARK THE SHADED MOON AT NOSPAR JW
Quality liver dog maturing nicely, excellent coat colour with even decoration. Lovely dark eyes with kind expression, good head framed by nicely broken ears. Nice clean neck into well laid shoulders. Good depth of brisket, short loin and strong quarters. Clean outline standing but didn’t move his best today, tended to crab; possibly the wind or he would have been in line for top honours
2nd: KAZANA DALZANA KING OF JOPPA Black spotted boy with evenly spaced decoration on pure white background. Felt he lacked a little impulsion from the rear but moved soundly, keeping a level topline and covering sufficient ground.

1st: BOLT FAKENHAM FLASH GORDON
Liver boy who excelled on the move, absolutely true viewed from every angle. Good construction with correct upper arm & shoulder placement and rear angulation to complement. Strong well muscled quarters which powered him round the ring with long reachy stride, and effortless movement. Pleasing head and expression, nice spotting. Would prefer a little more elegance in neck but the dog overall presented a good picture. Delighted to award him the CC.
2nd: RANCES OLBERO OWTKACHIT
Another liver boy with good head planes and construction. Presents a balanced outline standing. Felt he wasn’t concentrating fully today as he wasn’t moving as well as I know he can.
3rd: JACKSON WIVECUM WEAVER AT JACKDAW

OD (6 Entries) Abs: 2 1st: MCCARTHYS CH/IR CH TOLLWOOD LIONEL AT KILNDANDY J.W.
Another quality liver boy, who has near perfect construction and size. Beautifully put together with correct angulation all round. Good bone and feet. Correct tail set and carriage. So sound when viewed from every angle, very economical movement. Lovely kind expression, lovely head & ears and good coloured clear spotting. Like his owner, just wish he would show a bit more animatian , he is good enough to beat the lot. Res CC.
2nd: WRIGHT CH FFIGLINA NEW HORIZONS AT MILLBELLE JW Sh.CM
Nice liver boy with attractive decoration, a little strong in head for me but soundly constructed body with good lay of shoulder, excellent turn of stifle & strong quarters. Moves well with powerful driving rear action. Real stallion dog.
3rd: BALE-STOCK SPRING CELEBRATION BY APPALOOSA Always seem to place him 3rd, but no disgrace in this company, lots to like about him. Good sound boy.

1st: HARRISON-STRATFORD DALKEREVE DARK N DIVINE 2nd: GARTON JABBAWOCK PEPPER UP POTION Very much a baby next to winner but time is on her side. Nicely constructed and presents a balanced picture though a little fine for my personal preference. Quietly and sympathetically handled to bring out the best in her.

A future champion in the making, such a well constructed young lady presents a really balanced outline. Jet black spotting on clear white, with a pretty feminine head, clean long neck into good shoulders. Level topline and sound muscular quarters. Excellent ground covering stride and sound view head on coming & going. Will watch her progress with interest.
2nd: LEWIS HUNTERSWOOD RAZZMATAZZ Balanced outline, more compact than winner, lacks front angulation otherwise soundly constructed with nice decoration. Moved well.

1st:LEVYS MOTEK CHELSEA CHLOE
Very much my preferred type, similar in make and shape to CC winner, beautiful coloured even liver spotting on clear white background. Very appealing face framed by lovely broken ears, dark eyes giving a kind expression. Clean neck, into good shoulders, plenty of depth and forechest, well ribbed up body and good muscled quarters with well developed second thigh. Moved true with gound covering stride. Feet not her fortune. Close decision between her and her Mum for res CC.
2nd: SCOTT-ALLEN & DAVIS TOLUTIM CHARTREUSE JW Very similar type to winner, deep brisket, good ribbing and short loin. Appealing head, spotting not her best asset. Did everything asked of her on the move, such a sound bitch.
3rd: NEATH-DUGGAN BUFFREY SPRIG O MINT JW A lovely girl I’ve always liked with beautiful even decoration. Not really concentrating today & have seen her move much better.

1st: Bitch CC/BOB/Utility Group/BIS DUNNACHIES CH. DVOJICA VOODOO
Compact black spotted bitch I have previously given a Res CC when she was not on top form but today just did everything right. She is not without faults but out showed & outmoved all the competition. Absolutely true movement from all angles, in the big ring she went up a gear and was truly stunning. Stands four square naturally, showing her construction is completely balanced. Concentrates all the time on her handler who shows her quietly and unobtrusively. Fine performance all round.
2nd: LEVY SVOLVAERGEITA’S CROWN JEWEL AT MOTEK (Imp) Lovely coloured liver gorgeous head with nice dark eyes and attractive expression, nicely decorated. Short coupled similar type to winner moved true and covered the ground. Good depth, well ribbed up body with short loin.
3rd: LAMB LEAVESLAKE LILY AT DALPETRO JW Quality bitch different type from 1& 2, correct construction, well balanced outline with good movement. Nicely decorated with feminine head and kind expression. Very unlucky not to have gained her title.
