Dalmatian Club of Scotland 2008 Judged by Mrs Wendy Toynton
Temperaments were all excellent, most had good dentition & regular scissor bites, I did not encounter any Bad mouths, teeth were all well cared for , much more attention to feet is needed, coats were generally Good, though a few thick ones were in evidence, presentation has improved since I last awarded C.C.’s.

Minor Puppy dog (2,0)

1st- Coates – Buffrey the Shaded Sun at Cubalibre.
Attractive b/w puppy dog, lovely spotty face, carrying the right amount of weight for a puppy, gleaming coat & excellent pigmentation, tight cat-feet, strong hocks, well laid back, good front with correct top-line. I liked his kind expression & boyish charm. Well handled, has potential.
2nd – Pearson & Dodds – Camargue Euro Vision. Handsome b/w puppy, slightly larger than 1st, well broken ears, intelligent expression, shows well for his handler, Shown in fit, clean condition, hope he does not grow much more.

1ST - Hartley’ & Griffiths – Creaganbrec the Favourite at Miragua.
This boy is truly Jack the lad, very striking b/w puppy, I wish he belonged to me, excellent make & shape, masculine, but elegant, compact body with substantial bone, correct tail-set, good turn of stifle, really well laid back hock’s, presented in excellent condition, moves really well for one so young, he is full of personality & has ring presence, I am sure top honours are waiting for him, I shall be interested to watch him in the future. Junior Dog (5,1a).

1st - Kay’s – Kaytian One Kool Kat.
Lovely shade of liver, even decoration, masculine head with sweet expression, pretty, well broken ears, tail- set not his best point, well grown strong boy, hopefully grown to his capacity, correct length of back, steady mover, Well handled.
2nd – Smith’s – Dalminshi Star Cluster. Young b/w, longer in back than 1st, even decoration, in good coat & condition, very attentive, good mover, well Handled.
3rd – Moat’s – Major Sheer Will at Sundown.

Yearling Dog (6,1a).

1st – Jubb’s – Dalmark the Double Agent. J.W.
Lovely liver colour in sparkling condition, excellent , glossy coat, love his face & expression, full of character, well broken ears, tight cat-feet, nails rounded, spotting evenly distributed, correct pigmentation, strong body, good length of back, elegant neck, moves with long, flowing strides, tracking fore & aft, well presented & handled. Considered strongly for Res.C.C.
2nd – Kay’s - Katian One Kool Kat.
3rd – Gamble’s – Mullabuoy Sir Winston.

Maiden Dog. (1,0a).

1st – Pearson & Dodd’s – Camargue Euro Vision.

Novice Dog. (4,1a).

1st – Pearson & Dodd’s – Camargue Euro Vision.
2nd – Moat’s – Sheer Will at Sundown.
Very active dog & handler, they look as if they could run miles together, evenly marked with spots on small side, but with good pigmentation, attractive head, nicely arched neck & strong body, presented in fit condition.
3rd – Beeston’s – Standbury Heights by Sanadal.

Graduate dog (2,0a).

1st – Dinsdale’s – Dalesbred Dreadlocks
Whitest of coats, sleek black spots, good round bone, correct length of leg, tight cat-feet, steady mover fore & aft, lovely masculine head, dark eye, short coupled, well developed second thigh, presented in excellent coat & condition.
2nd – Beattie’s –Smart Boy Prince.

Post. Grad. Dog (9,2a)

1st - Kazana’s – Dalzana King of Joppa.
Most charming boy that you could wish to meet, handsome, nice head, lovely dark eye, well broken ears, strong round bone, good length of leg, balanced decoration, moves effortlessly, at one with his handler, stands four square, Shown in the best of condition.
2nd – Smith’s – Dalleaf Mullberry. Attractive liver dog of good colour, correct length of body & tail-set, ears well set on to typical head, evenly marked, whitest of coats. I think he has not reached his best yet, needs to muscle up & feet need to tighten, has steady well balanced movement.
3rd – Alcock’s – Mapplewell Chocolate Box for Dalspartan.

Limit Dog (6,1a)

1st – Page’s – Winflash Harvey Wallbanger.
Each time I see him, the more I like him, he grows on you with his charming personality, excellent body shape & top-line, correct tail-set, liked his head, well broken ears, another one of the few with strong round bone, so well balanced enabling him to move with ease, very attentive to handler, tip-top presentation, odds on for the future.
2nd – Mapplewell Chocolate Box for Dalspartan
3rd – Lewis’s – Man About Town at Hunterswood. J.W. Sh. Cm.

Open Dog. (11,2a)

1st – Stock’s – Ch. Dalmark the Shaded moon at Nospar. J.W.
I have admired this lovely liver boy since his puppy days, for me, he has matured into an outstanding example of our breed who oozes quality, every piece of him fits so smoothly together, flowing top-line, first class tail-set, round bone, good & strong, tight feet, well sprung pasterns & defined hocks, smooth, well balanced movement, love his face & expression, shows well for his handler, I could find no fault, a dog in a million, it gave me great pleasure to award him the D.C.C. & Best in Show.
2nd – Coates – Cubalibre Top Spot.
Typical b/w in peak of condition, pure white ground colour with shiny spotting, excellent pigmentation & darkest of eye, solid bone, feet well manicured & cared for, good steady driving movement, smartly presented & very well handled, getting the best out of him, unlucky to meet 1st in such sparkling form.
3rd – Wright’s – Ch, Ffiglina New Horizons at Millbelle SH. Cm.

Veteran Dog. (7,1a)

1st – Gemmont Mystical Night.
Another one I have always admired from the ring side, liver colour, excellent, even spotting, friendly demeanour, lovely neck, fits so well into shoulder & down to flowing top-line, good length of body, attractive male head, lovable expression, moved with drive & purpose, neat & cleanly handled.
2nd – Neath & Duggan’s – TrueBlue Buffrey. J.W. Good black in peak condition, sleek white coat, deep pigmentation, does not look his age, moved well around the ring Handling second to none as ever from this young lady, well presented,
3rd – Fort’s – Charming Firefly at Shulune. Sh. Cm.

Marie Steen Memorial Stakes Open.(4,1a)

1st – Mr & Mrs L. Cutts – Ch. Kaytian Kalypso to Marzelina.
Extremely fit liver dog who really makes the most of himself, short-coupled with good body length, kind expression, masculine head nicely in proportion, well broken ears, arched, well defined neck, pleasing top-line, Stood naturally four square, plenty of substantial bone, tight feet making him stand well up on his pads, muscled hind quarters, defined & firm, another stallion of the breed, excelled in movement & handled in a quiet manner as it should be, years of experience coming to the fore & proving what is expected of them both, a very close contest giving the C.C. winner a run for his money, a hard act to follow & well earned Res. C.C.
2nd – Coates – Cubalibre Top Spot.
Again, unlucky to come up against a dog in such fine form, but, I think his day will come.
3rd – Ch. & Ir. Ch. Tollwood Lionel at Kilndandy.

Minor Puppy Bitch (11,2a)

1st - Newton’s – Tynevale Tuscan Tart.
Cute liver girl, rich in colour, prettiest of heads, feminine without being snipey, liked her overall make & shape, Lots of good round bone to grow into, being her first show she did really well, I shall watch her future progress With interest.
2nd – Page’s – Winflash Magic Mystery. Another super black bitch from this kennel, she looks so like her dam, I found it quite remarkable, well up on her feet, really compact toes & tidy nails, good balance of decoration, mature in attitude for one so young, nice head & ears, well handled, has great potential.
3rd – Richardson’s – Buffrey Lightening Strikes Among Mapplewell.

Puppy Bitch (7,3)

1st – Christie’s – Sophtspot Snap Crackle N Pop.
This beautiful puppy takes my breath away, such a pretty feminine head & face, really dark eyes , designer spotting, perfect neck which fits in to well laid shoulder correct top-line, tight feet, nicely arched toes, defined hocks, Second thigh developing , pasterns well sprung, sufficient spring of rib, text book confirmation, moves effortlessly with a fair reach of stride, presentation is top class as is the norm from this kennel, was serious contender for Res. C.C. I am sure she will make it to top honours.
2nd – Polhill’s – Kymvale Savannah Short coupled b/w youngster, evenly decorated, good pigmentation, clean head, defined stop, pretty ears, plenty of bone, capacious heart room, tight cat feet, moved gracefully, handled well, should have good future.
3rd - Addy’s – Creagenbrec Raven Black.

Junior bitch (10,2a)

1st – Alexander’s – Offordale White Lady.
Another attractive b/w young bitch with a flamboyant outgoing personality, so feminine & elegant, her well manicured feet are an example to all, feet round with well arched toes allowing her to move correctly, even decoration, good length of leg, compact body, streamlined & powerful in stride, muscle is defined & solid, Well presented & handled, a close contest with 1st in puppy for Res. C.C., but won it on character.
2nd – Moore’s – Manchan Choc Chip from Fincham. Pretty liver, correct size, marked evenly, plentiful in bone, and substance, flowing lines, well laid & muscular shoulder, correct length of back, moved steadily but still needs to tighten, floor surface did not help, well schooled & attentive to handler.
3rd – Pickup’s – Roadcoach Ribbons and Roses. J.W.

Yearling Bitch. (11,1a).

1st – Black’s – Boval Buduicca.
Classical liver, another I should like to take home, feminine, prettiest of faces with endearing expression, Excellent overall conformation, plenty of heart room & adequate rib cage, perfect turn of stifle, strong bone & Well cared for feet, flowing balanced movement, a picture to watch going around the ring, great potential, well handled.
2nd – Moore’s Manchando Choc Chip Cookie from Fincham.
3rd – Pickup’s – Roadcoach Ribbons and Roses. J.W.

Maiden Bitch (6,1a)

1st – Winflash Magic Mystery.
2nd – Johnson’s – Tynevale Troublesome Tart.
More lightly marked liver, still of rich colour, clean & muscular shoulder, in good coat & condition, appealing face with intelligent expression, which I liked, moved well, handler works hard to get the most out of her, feet could be a little tighter.
3rd – Lock-McFadzeen’s – Sassafras Infra Red.

Novice Bitch (8,1a)

1st – Winflash Magic Mystery.
2nd – Richardson’s – Pearly Naughty Las at Jomihvar.
This pretty black bitch has improved so much since I last saw her at 6 mths of age, pure white coat, lovely black spotting, not as short coupled as 1st, slightly longer in loin, very confident mover, pays attention to handler, stands four square, rounded hind-quarters, well sprung ribs, shown in fit, hard condition, wonderful handling duo, smooth change over.
3rd – Buffrey Lightening Strike Among Mapplewell.

Graduate Bitch (11,3a).

1st – Smith’s – Christines Girl.
Pretty b/w girl, reminds me of my first Dalmatian, really dark eye, feminine head, arched neck, level top-line, strong hocks, rounded hind quarters, attentive to her handler, moves really well around the ring, a little more muscle would be to her advantage.
2nd – Pickup’s – Roadcoach Ribbons and Roses. The best pigmentation here to-day, superb condition, sleek, glossy coat, well cared for feet, really up on her toes, well schooled, impressive overall picture, muscling up well with second thigh moulding nicely, presented in first class condition, very pleasing head & dark eye.
3rd – Pilgrim’s – Olbero One To Charm at Weaponness.

P. Grad. Bitch.(7,3a).

1st – Lock – McFadzeen’s – Tyrodal Ultra Violet by Sassafras.
Pleasing liver bitch I have often admired from the ring side, beautiful marking’s, so well placed, really decorative Ears, best of liver colour, plenty of substance, carries herself well, needs a little more muscle, more attention to her feet would improve her overall appearance, considered her for the Res. C.C. but feet let her down, correct tail- set, has potential for the future.
2nd – William’s – Phadante Take A Chance On Me. Well made bitch, though lightly marked, nice turn of stifle, strong hind quarters, sloping shoulder with a fair reach of neck, moved well for her handler, presented in good, clean condition.
3rd – Croft’s – Doubtwell Black Magic.

Limit Bitch (18,4a).

1st – Cuthbertson’s – Kalsidoni Garnet. J.W.
Much improved b/w with clean lines, deep chest with plenty of lung & heart room. Compact body, strong rear, Pleasing top-line & tail- set, round bone, much freedom of movement, but toes need to tighten a little, spots well spaced & has dark pigmentation, overall she looks very balanced, moves steady & well, liked her calm manner, Presented well with sleek & glossy coat.
2nd – Clarke’s – Mapplewell Double Take at Klarkeson. Larger cast than 1st, but has many virtues, good distribution of spots on well made body, good leg length with Tidy feet & strong pasterns, correct turn of stifle, muscular, well laid shoulder, nicely arched neck, kind face & Expression, moves well.
3rd – Fort’s – Lady Of Light From Shulune.

Open Bitch (8,2a).

1st – Dunnachie’s – Ch. Dvojica Voodoo J.W.
Well known CH. very compact in body, even decoration, correct size & length of back, would like more of an arched neck, not looking her best to-day, ( looks to me like hormone problems), but still moved with drive, she always gives her best, so very honest, excellent handling.
2nd – Neath – Duggan’s – Ch. Buffrey Sprig o Mint. J.W. Longer in back than 1st, excellent pigmentation, clear, defined spotting, in good coat & condition, precise & smooth handling, making the most of her, especially on the move, balanced, with strong driving movement from the hindquarters, correct top-line.
3rd – Chance & Dodd’s – Tynevale Triple Tickle.

Veteran Bitch (7,4a).

1st - Pilgrim’s – Weaponness Bell Bird.
Lovely liver girl, who can still move well, a credit to her owner, still looks in fine fettle, excellent liver colour, feminine head & kind expression, carries her age well.
2nd – Richardson’s – Ch. Jomihvar In Vin Sybil. J.W. Several years younger than 1st lovely b/w champion seems to love the show ring, well presented.
3rd – Gibb’s – Phadante Norweigen Wood. Sh. C.M.

This lovely b/w bitch is really on her toes, a real carriage dog who, I am sure could go all day & then some more, Pretty face, dark eyes, perfect top-line, that she holds so well on the move, strong hind quarters, driving with power, well angulated turn of stifle, good front, nicely arched neck, correct length of body, excellent tail-set, nice front, well defined in muscle. A Brilliant duo, dog & handler in perfect unison, a real joy to watch them moving around the ring together, so very natural, such balanced movement with a spring in their step, for me, she befits the standard, turned out in superb condition, a real show girl, & her handler, others would do well to take note of this young ladies sheer professionalism, a real winning combination, so proud to award her, her third C.C. a worthy champion, Well done & well deserved, C.C. & Res.Best in Show.
2nd – Roach’s – Ch. Hebe Aleatory In Holderness.J.W. Sh C.M.
I have always admired this really elegant b/w bitch, she has such a sweet nature, slightly longer in back than 1st, but very streamline, superb feminine head & expression, dense pigment, even markings, a really excellent mover, Lovely balanced stride, shows well for handler, not presented to her usual high standard to-day.
