DOGS

MINOR PUPPY DOG Present 2 Absent 0

1. Talbot’s Winflash Willie Do It At Leaveslake
Balanced black spotted youngster of 8m, with pleasing dark eyes, and even spotting. Very confident and assured, ideal size, who moved with purpose & drive, nicely angled at both ends, with a correct tail carriage. Seems to have acquired the knack of showing himself off to advantage at an early stage. Best Puppy Dog
2. Litter’s Kelevra Man In The Mirror
Good quality liver spotting, decent shape, presented in splendid condition, and overall of sound conformation, about the same size as 1. Unfortunately today was unable to match the winner in most aspects, however he is only 8m old and with experience can expect to boost his showmanship in order to be able to compete more favourably.

PUPPY DOG Present 2 Absent 0

1. Whiting’s Cibrith Captain Kirk
9m old with spectacular black spotting on a pure white coat. Completely at one with his handler who runs him effectively to display his sound and positive movement He is of the correct size and balanced, with a lovely outgoing temperament. When challenging for BPD his front & rear angulations were not as clearly defined, and his tail carriage was a shade high.
2. Hitchins’ Tyrodal Special Feature A profusely spotted liver of 11m, slightly larger than 1. Good shape and balance with a deep brisket. Good front and hindquarters with a sound temperament. All told, a decent puppy, but his movement was somewhat erratic, and he could not match the show intensity of 1.

JUNIOR DOG Present 9 Absent 1

1. Croft’s Doubtwell Show Stopper
Black spotted of almost 17m. Strongly made and well grown with ample bone. Spectacular decoration, on the best of clear coats. A nicely proportioned exhibit who is big enough, yet maintains a pleasing outline with a good measure of elegance and correct angles to shoulders and hocks. Moved correctly and with purpose Was briefly a little unsettled at one stage, but recovered himself sufficiently in the class, and put in a strong performance in the challenge.
3. Polhill’s Fincham Hurricane Jack At Kymvale Younger dog of 13m. Attractive liver spotting. Built on more elegant lines than 1, but with the same good construction and confirmation. Happy extrovert, who’s side movement was one of the best that I saw today. Only just out of puppy, and conceding some maturity to the winner. A close call, and will no doubt change places on another day. Two very impressive junior dogs.
4. Gates-Raw & Garton’s Dalendale Quiet Riot

YEARLING Present 6 Absent 2

1. Christie’s Sophtspot Abracadabra JW
Nicely distributed Black spotting on this standard size dog. Put together as a balanced package, not overdone in any way, but in possession of the necessary attributes required to progress in the show ring. In addition to having correct confirmation, he is a very good mover, and seems to have a perfect show temperament, being presented in a calm, easy, but highly effective fashion.
2. Goodswen’s Tamilanda Pink Vigilante From Alphadal JW Liver spotted, of a similar size balance and confirmation as 1 although a touch shorter in the back. Somewhat exuberant, and at times a real challenge for his handler. However he has a pleasing shape and well extended hind quarters that he used properly on the move. His spotting not as clearly defined as the winner, but ultimately a nice enough dog
3. Rose’s Candidals Run Forest Run

POST GRADUATE Present 10 Absent 2

1. Bakers’ Oneowun Ohio
My comments on the last occasion I judged him, was that he needed to present himself in a more confident fashion. He certainly achieved this, standing beautifully, and moving with a fluid and easy gait. Has matured into a strong but elegant specimen, with top quality black spotting on a clear white background. He has the right balance and physical make up. A very assured performance
2. Alcock’s Mapplewell Chocolate Box For Dalspartan Liver dog in good condition. A very steady and sound mover, Pretty good construction throughout, with a quiet steady temperament, correctly angled front and rear. Not quite the refinement of 1 in the front and neck area
3. Barnsley’s Tanstar Jet Black.

MID LIMIT Present 6 Absent 0

1. Adderley’s Leiahart Chicago Bear
Top notch black spotting, shapely and elegant outline, great mover, steady temperament, and correct construction. All the ingredients for a successful show career. A most mature performance, undertaken in an easy and relaxed fashion, which he took with him into the challenge
2. Page’s Winflash Harvey Wallbanger JW Black spotted of a slightly smaller but standard size, and shorter back than 1. Very compact in construction, who moved in a controlled powerful fashion, maintaining his smart shape on the move Very well put together, and totally at one with his handler. Didn’t have the scope of movement of the winner.
3. Kembrey’s Jabbawock The Conquistador At Dalmark

LIMIT Present 11 Absent 2

1 Tingey’s Holderness Hillbilly By Dallydor. JW
A liver spotted boy, large enough with plenty of substance, but balanced and very sound. His movement was precise & true, with a steady rhythmic action. Another one handled beautifully, getting the best out of him at all times. He seems to have a perfect show temperament, however to display a shade more animation would be to his advantage
5. Goff-Leggett’s Washakie Nutcracker Prince JW Thought this could have been my winner when initially looking at the class. Marvellous black spotting on the whitest of backgrounds, perfectly standard size, and the most elegant and balanced of dogs. He could not compete with the movement of 1 today, and at times appeared a little disinterested in the proceedings.
3. Jenkins’ Illyria Sarons Lad

OPEN Present 9 Absent 1

1. Hartley & Griffiths’ Ch Creaganbrec The Favourite At Miragua JW
My top performer today, an ultra smart, compact, standard size male, with the most spectacular black spotting; so attractive looking from all aspects. Presented in sparkling condition, and moving with verve and style. Is so well balanced with a deep chest, great angulations, front & rear, and splendid tail carriage. CC & BIS (following the referees decision)
2. Cutts’ Ch Katyian KalypsoTo Marzelina Great liver spotting, super condition, on top form, similar size, probably a touch taller & longer than 1, but super balance and shape. Moved with plenty of drive and style. A most attractive and worthy champion who was pipped for the top place today, a close decision RCC & RBIS
3. Dunnachie’s Ch Sophtspot Sugar Daddy At Dvojica JW

JUNIOR VETERAN Present 3 Absent 0

1. Clelland’s Deovolante Don Alphonso JW
Classy black spotted, smart looking dog of 9 ½ yrs, in excellent condition, moved with exuberance, not really showing his age at all. Seemed to enjoy his day out, a credit to his owners. Best Veteran Dog & Best Opp Sex Veteran In Show
2. Lewis’s Ch Hunterswood Talk Of The Town JW
Just a few weeks younger than 1, also black spotted. Another well preserved boy in fine fettle who still retains his excellent movement, and calm approach to showing. Thought that 1 had more definition around the front & neck area
3. Davis’ Streamline Magic Secret

SPECIAL VETERAN Present 2 Absent 0

1 McMillans Cecil Wye Knot At Dalyance
2 Neath Duggan’s Tumbril True Blue Buffrey
These two senior veterans at 11 & 10 ½ yrs respectively, gave us a glimpse of how our breed endures into old age. Both seemed to be perfectly happy to undertake the task in hand, and both put in a fine display allowing for their seniority. However the extra year or so in age certainly seemed to show as their movement was somewhat restricted compared to the previous veteran class, with 2 having less freedom at the rear end than the winner. This was after all a class for elderly gents, where age has to be taken into consideration

b/w bitch who excels in conformation and movement. Perfect condition, right size and a real willingness to show her quality standing and on the move won her this strong class. To be picky would prefer cleaner decoration
2nd Willis Cibrith Constellation Liver bitch from another breeder who produces consistent good quality stock . For me she is slightly big but has super front and extends on the move, covering the ground as a Dalmatian should. Well spotted. A puppy who looked more at home in this class.
3rd Dunnachies Dvojica Voulez Vous

YB 10 (3)

1st Kennedys Beebo Betty,
this was my surprise of the day, bitch who caught my eye as she came into the ring. Excelled in everything I was looking for. Her front is super and she has an excellent topline tailset and bend of stifle. Well muscled with a lovely round bottom and once she got into her stride and started to respond to her handler she was a joy to watch both coming and going and in profile. Her head and expression and the way she uses her ears along with super black spotting completed for me a picture that I have in my head of a typical Dalmatian. Add to that an outgoing personality and keen attitude and I felt she was my winner. BCC
2nd Cheethams Koroyza Cute as Candy for Dollywood

Beautiful liver bitch who oozes quality.Well constructed with excellent front, topline tailset and carriage. Well muscled quarters which she used to advantage with strong and flowing movement. Gorgeous head and expression and elegant neck. Standing she did not always look her best and if she could be persuaded to relax and show off on a loose lead that would complete the picture.
2nd Whitings Cibrith China Aster liver bitch and one of the best movers of the day. Unlucky to meet such opposition, Her front movement is straight and true with great extension and she drives well from behind. Well muscled and fit, correct size, good topline and neat tuck up. Gives her full, attention to her skilful handler.

2nd Harrison-Stratfords Dalkereve Dark n Divine JW another huge favourite of mine who I have watched win all over Europe as well as England since I gave her BP at Windsor. 1st Beaumont & Crofts Little Miss Fusspot for Koroyza
This B/w bitch has personality in abundance, she enters the ring and makes it her own especially on the move when she strides out with such purpose and drive I could not take my eye off her. Add to that her correct conformation, spectacular spotting, beautiful face and well used ears. Eager to please and animated towards her handler she demands attention. RCC
2nd Dinsdale Dalesbred Mariette
I love the elegance and femininity of this beautiful bitch, would ideally prefer slightly more bone but that said her construction is good and she moves round the ring with a rhythmic stride. Slightly longer in loin than one and quieter attitude but sound and fit.
