SKC 2014 Judged by Mrs P L Dickson
SKC CH SHOW DALMATIANS I would like to thank everyone for making my day so enjoyable, a special thanks to my two able Stewards for keeping things running smoothly. I was concerned about the lack of quality and type in some of the exhibits of both sexes. I found a few short tails, and movement on the whole was not good, I do not know if this was down to being an indoor show with not a very big ring. Not all gloom and doom though, as I found heads had improved in both dogs & bitches and I did have some lovely exhibits to go over.

PD 2 (1). Two very different dogs...

1. Christie’s Sophtspot Ever Ready B/S boy, good masculine head and lovely dark eyes, very powerful dog with good round bone, level top line and good quarters. Movement was a bit erratic.
2. Page’s Winflash Jimmy Choo Smaller very immature baby, nice make and shape with good black spotting, has a way to go but has time on his side. Did not move well.

JD 1 (0)

1. Addy’s Creganbrec Jacob Marley Stood alone, but a worthy winner, good black spotting. Very well balanced and a good make and shape with good round bone. Moved well YD 4 (0)

1. Hobbs & Whiting’s Boutonneux Baby Buco Avec Rapanooey b/s dog well proportioned head with good eye colour. Good deep brisket and well ribbed back. Good bone and tight feet. Very balanced dog who showed and moved well.
2. Lindsay’s Cubalibre Stride On At Appennine. Lighter spotted black dog, good head, nicely arched neck and good topline. Did not move as well as 1 and tended to carry his tail high.
3. Wheaton’s Dalamanti Phantom Medal At Acinonyx.

PGD 6 (2)

1. Markey’s Heaven Sent Phreeman Calix With Dalissm. Upstanding B/S boy, good masculine head with lovely dark eyes. Deep brisket and well ribbed back, very good spotting.Tail rather short, moved Ok.
2. Clark’s Klarkeson One Vision . Another B/S dog, lovely head super dark eyes and kind expression, level topline, good round bone. Moved ok.
3. Dalamanti Phantom Medal

LD 5 (0) Lovely class

1. Dunnachie’s Dvojica Vendetta. Quality dog, so balanced and pleasing on the eye. Well arched neck, level topline, deep brisket & good spring of rib. Good turn of stifle. Moved and showed well. I am sure he will be made up soon.
2. Cuthbertson’s Kalsidoni Cameo Masculine, well constructed B/S dog, correct shoulder placement, deep brisket with good spring of rib. Level topline and strong over the loin. Super round bone, moved and showed well.
3. Lamb’s Dalpetro Decaprio

OD 5 (1) Quality class

1. DCC Hartley & Griffiths CH Creaganbrec The Favourite At Miragua. He is certainly a favourite of mine. This B/S dog is so typical and oozes quality, attractive spotty face, good dark eyes which enhance his lovely expression. Very well balanced dog with good front assembly, deep brisket and well ribbed back. Correct tail carriage and good turn of stifle. Although, in my opinion I think he has now reached his prime, he could not be denied the ticket today.
2. RCC Whincup’s Tamilanda Panther Lilly. I last judged this dog when he was a puppy. I really liked him then. He is now maturing into a lovely specimen. Short coupled and well balanced boy. Attractive well proportioned head, excellent bone, level topline, strong hindquarters and a good turn of stifle. My first look around the ring, I really thought he would be my winner today, but unfortunately his movement let him down and had to be content with the rcc. I’m sure it won’t be long before he is made up.
3. Alexander’s CH Offerdale Chevalier.

PB 7 (1) I would love to have judged these youngsters outside, as clearly some were not happy in the inside ring.

1. BP & PG3 Munro’s Kalsidoni Celtic Star Promising 8 ½ mth old B/s bitch. Pretty feminine head & good eye colour. Nice make & shape, good shoulder placement and level topline. Showed & moved so well for one so young. Looked lovely in the big ring where she showed her socks off & had more room to show her very good movement.
2. Hobbs & Whiting’s Rapanooey Rhapsody. B/S compact girl, attractive head, and lovely arched neck. Good deep brisket and very good bone. Moved and showed well.
3. Barrett’s Dalmanti Ice Ruby.

JB 4 (0) What a super class, four lovely bitches and the one class I would have liked 4 red cards. I am sure they all have a very bright future.

1. Alexander’s Offerdale Amethyst lovely quality girl, classic head, super expression. Well arched neck, correct lay of shoulder, good depth of brisket and well ribbed back, strong hindquarters which she used to her advantage on the move. Very much the showgirl and was determined to win this class. To be hypercritical, I wish her tail carriage was better.
2. Gardener’s Dvojica Black Again At Wrendragge Well balanced girl, pretty head with well set on ears, good reach of neck and level topline. Made correctly both fore & aft, she has lovely clear black spotting. Moved correctly, just wished she had shown herself off more. Nevertheless a really nice bitch.
3. Hartley & Griffith’s Creaganbrec Glory Be At Miragua.

YB 3 (0)

1. Quayle’s Cubalibre Follow On. Reserve in the strong junior class, but won this one with loads to spare. Well constructed & a nicely balanced bitch, good head & expression. Correct shoulder placement & good depth of brisket. The icing on the cake is her lovely clear black spotting. Showed & moved to perfection. A really promising young lady.
2. Baker’s Dalmaigheo Ruby Baby. Lighter marked B/S bitch, pretty head with good dark eye. Good deep brisket, moved steadily. Not the quality of the winner.
3. Bain’s Caldecacre Synnove At Robroskei.

PGB 7 (3) Found this class very difficult.

1. Kelevra Madame Defarge of Dalcarla Nicely decorated bitch, good head with dark eyes. level topline. Best mover in this class.
2. Bain’s Caldecacre Synnove At Robroskei Nicely balanced L/S bitch, good head, well rounded bone. Just a pity she was suffering from a false pregnancy, which completely spoilt her outline. Moved OK.
3. Markey’s Dalissm’s Love Witch’

LB 5 (0)

1. BCC & BOB Stock’s Kalokairie’s Lady Bollinger At Nospar. I just love this bitch, I gave her a first RCC when she was 12 ½ mths & today I was delighted to award her the important 3rd CC. She has such lovely clean lines, plenty of substance, although her picture book spotting tells you otherwise. Lovely feminine head with such a super expression. Well arched neck going into correct shoulder placement. Level topline, good tailset and carriage. At one with her handler, showed & moved to perfection.
2. Dunnachie’s Dvojica Violition Quality L/S girl, feminine head, well placed ears. Nicely arched neck, good deep brisket & well ribbed back. Strong hindquarters. Good Liver spotting of the correct colour, moved correctly with good driving action.
3. Lamb’s Dalpetro Diva

OB 9 (1) super class

1. & RCC Page’s CH Winflash Elle’s Belle’s Beautifully balanced well constructed B/S bitch. Pleasing head, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, strong level topline, deep brisket and well sprung ribs. Good turn of stifle, and excellent bone. Handled & moved to perfection. A classy Dalmatian & a very worthy champion.
2. Quayle’s CH Cubalibre Spot On. First time I have had the pleasure to go over this lovely exhibit. Very sound eye catching girl. She is such a lovely make & shape and shown in good hard condition. Feminine head, good eye colour, well arched neck & good shoulder placement. Correctly made both fore & aft. Good clear spotting on pure white coat. Good driving action on the move. Again a very worthy champion.
3. Page’s Winflash Born To Be Wild.
