Leeds 2014 Judged by Mrs Donna Whincup
It was ideal day weather wise for judging our beautiful breed, and also a great honour to be asked to judge at one of my favourite shows on the circuit. The show as always was well organised and I was made to feel very welcome. The ring was of a good size but unfortunately a bit on the uneven side with the tyre tracks that ran straight through the middle of it, making running for both dogs and owners very difficult.

All dogs were very good in temperament. I found the need for improvement on the handling side, as bad skills lost good dogs high places. We seem to have quite a lot of ticking creeping in which does spoil the normally prominent spots that are required for our breed, and also a lack of pigment on noses and eye rims.

The quality of the dogs in the lower classes did worry me a little, but on the whole I was very happy with my top winners, in some of the higher classes I wish I would have had more than one first place as my decisions were so close and the dogs were outstanding.
