BITCHES CRITIQUE

Mrs S Stevenson

It was an honour to be invited to judge at this Championship Show. My thanks are extended to the hardworking Committee for its efforts in arranging the Show and to exhibitors for the privilege of judging their bitches. I was generally very pleased with what I found before me although I do feel that fronts are becoming quite straight with a lack of forechest, which does not allow for the positive reach and movement required. I came across a few exhibits with flat forefeet. Light eyes, particularly in the blacks was apparent and this does tend to harden the expression. I endeavoured to make my placings based upon conformation and sound movement.

Minor Puppy
(4, 2 absent)
1. Healey’s Hebemor Tumbling Dice
7 months black. Lovely dark pigmentation, attractively spotted. Nicely proportioned, well placed shoulders and elegant neck. Level topline and well defined rear quarters. Moved with a positive steady action, driving from the rear. Initially was not too happy with the environment causing her to drop her tail.

Best Puppy Bitch.
2. Gray’s Polidot Snow Princess
B/w 8 months old. Even spotting and a little finer in forequarters than 1. Attractive expression and nicely carried ears. Well angulated rear quarters although a little ‘bottom high’ at the moment. Moved well with confidence.

1. Polidot Snow Princess
2. Silverstone’s Tanstar Amethyst Rose
