I apologise to ALL for the very long delay in receiving this report.

After the show, on returning back to NL, we started with a major renovation of our house which was followed, for me, a car accident from which I am still not fully recovered. I still have concentration problems and other, to the accident related, difficulties.

I wish to thank the committee of the BDC for the honour to judge at the show, but also to ALL participants for providing me with such a great entry. Club and show committees work very hard and come up with very good ideas and plans for the future, but without the support of their members + exhibitors + supporters, then a show and other plans or ideas, can be “made or broken” .

I also had the honour of judging this show, 10yrs ago. At the show this year I experienced a “time-shift” as to the quality of the dogs against those of the bitches. I feel that the quality, in general, of the bitches exceeded those of the dogs.

I regret to say that I had to ask a dog (male) to leave the ring due to his reaction to others in his class. Such a pity as he was a good example as to a general picture (exterior wise) for our breed.

In general, I found the presentation from all exhibitors, young, new, experienced and maybe older was immaculate. Once again, A BIG THANK YOU. My best in show was a young, black spotted bitch who moved superbly and was shown with much “extravaganza” by the owner. But as I have already said the presentation from all was SUPER ….

At the moment he is a little loose in his front movement. OK he is still a minor …. Time will tell as he is now still young. Has a good colour in his eye and very nice closed feet. Moved well for his age.

1 Washakie Shoshone Chief (Sh.CM), Goff-Legget A very good looking black spotted puppy, nearly 10 mths old. Has a well portioned head and body, good angulation fore and hind. Has a good dark eye colour. Moved well for his age. He maybe, in my opinion, a future “Chief “ !! Later became Reserve Best Puppy in show.

1 Offordale Picasso (Sh.CM), Alexander An evenly spotted black dog of 12 mths. Moved very well indeed showing a level topline at all times. Has good compact feet. Good dark eye colour. Showed well and was well shown. Later became my Reserve Best Dog in Show.
2 Daedalus Alfie Boe (Sh.CM), Ellarby Black spotted dog of 17 mths. Moved with ease through the ring. More than likely due to his age, had the tendency to stand with his hind a little higher than his front and a little loose in elbow.

Has a well formed head where I would have preferred to have seen a little less spotting around the eyes and also a cleaner lip outline. Good reach of neck and a level topline. Good tight catlike feet, good fore angulation, moved well.

1 Cader Idris Celt At Kalvadene (Sh.CM), Rose & Cattermole A 3 year old black dog who stood well for his handler. He seemed to enjoy his titbits !! Well angulated. I would like to have seen a stronger chest formation. Moved well.
2 Jamelsley Pyracantha At Dakata (Sh.CM), Gardinor A 20 mth old black spotted dog. Moved and showed well. His head outline would have been better if he had had a stronger muzzle. A little long in the loin but still a happy lad in the ring.

2 Millbelle Lithium (Sh.CM, JW), Wright A black spotted dog of 3 years. Has a quality head with a good reach of neck. Topline was not too wonderful but he moved very well. I would have liked to see a little more masculinity for a 3 yr old. Depth of brisket and amount of bone could be better for a male.

Firstly, I wish to congratulate the owners of both the Senior Veteran Dogs and Bitches in keeping their “oldies” in such good nick and being able to bring them out at such grand ages. It sounds like a cliché, but having had a number of veterans of my own over the years, I know how difficult it can be keeping them in good shape. They all deserve 1st prizes and a very special recognition. But the rules say we have to choose …………
1 Dalmark The Showstormer J W (Sh.CM), Ms M Kembrey 11+ yrs old black spotted dog, is looking good and certainly moved well for his age. Has clear spotting and a good conformation.
2 Buffrey Belleissimo at Fakenham (Sh.CM), Mr S J Bolt
13+ yrs old black spotted dog, showed and moved well (dare I say it ) for his age .. BRAVISSIMO .

1 Daymadals In The Mood (Sh.CM), Brennan 6 ½ mth old black spotted young lady. Has a lovely head with good reach of neck, a very well-proportioned young lady also with a good topline. She was very in the mood in the ring …. A very sturdy lass. Has a good eye colour. Moves at the moment as a lovely puppy .. I hope that her pasterns will improve with age.
2 Daymadals Wish Me Luck (Sh.CM) Townson & Pardoe 6 ½ mth old black spotted young lady, once again .. could have had a little more enthusiasm in the ring. Time and experience will more than likely tell. Moved well for her age and her first time a such a show. Well done, I “Wish you luck” for the future.

At the moment seems to have a slight problem with her dentition .. seems to be a little overshot (with age this should improve in a positive way). Lovely dark eye colour. Moved very well. Later became my choice for Best Puppy in Show.
2 Dalkereve Dark Duchess (Sh.CM), Harrison-Stratford Good black spotted young lady, aged 10 mths. Is at this moment a little straight in shoulder and has a rather undefined spotting. Has a very good dark eye colour. Moved well.

1 Daedalus Cliff Angel (JW), Petersen A strong well-built black spotted bitch. Has very good angulation front and behind, a good level topline. She moved like a train through the ring. The spotting is of a dense black colour. I would have preferred the head to have been a little more feminine.
2 Dallyador The Enchantress (JW), Tingey A liver spotted bitch of 14 mths. Has a delicate spotting of good colour. Well shaped feminine head with a correct ear carriage. Good reach of neck and a level topline. Stands a little straight in front which gives an impression that she is higher than what she really is. Rather long in loin, but because of this it gives plenty of room to be able stride out and cover much ground while moving.

Has a good reach of neck flowing onto a level back. I would have liked to see a more distinctive fore-chest. Moved well and was well shown.

Is very alert and, maybe due to the attention for her handler, sometimes had the tendency to stand a little straight in front, otherwise has a good construction and good bone, with a level top-line. Has very good, tight, cat-like feet. Moved with ease around the ring.
2 Dalispots Dubyana At Dakata (JW), Gardinor A 5 year old, liver spotted bitch. Her spotting is typical for a liver and has a good colour. A good character giving the impression that she enjoyed, everything. I would have liked to see a little more bone as it gives, at the moment, the idea that she is “high on the leg”. Moved, as many, with ease through the ring.
3 Anjelic Aphrodite for Millbelle (JW, Sh.CM), Miss J M Wright Not often done … But I feel that I must give a remark here. The handler of this 3 year old black spotted bitch is 9 years old. He handled her so well, nearly professional. It took me back to the days when I started in the show ring, (1957) I was then 5 yrs young. Maybe, may I say a few words in Welsh ?? “Dalati boyo “ + Well done !! .

2 Dalmark Polly the Pin-Up (JW, Sh.CM), Ms M Kembrey A liver lady at the ripe age of 13 yrs. What can I say .. I hope that I look as good as this if I may reach this age. Stood well and still has good feet and a good topline. Moved steadily through the ring. Bravo.
