DARLINGTON 2004
Judge's Critique
Mr A Cuthbertson
Firstly, my best wishes to Miss Gore’s husband for a speedy recovery. I was pleased to accept this unexpected invitation and I hope I did justice to the entry of dogs on the day. The weather was kind and the hospitality was exceptional. The ring was perfect with plenty of room for the exhibitors to get the best out of their dogs. I was disappointed with the number of dogs that were suffering the effects of “Dally Rash” and this, at times, affected my placing.
Veteran Dog. 4
1st Hernandez’s Ch. Dalminshi Gypsy Roamer. A fine upstanding dog I have known a long time. He was as usual handled perfectly and shown in tip-top condition. A worthy champion who can still stride round the ring with the best of them.
2nd. Beeston’s Master Plan at Sanadal. A younger veteran that I have always admired. He is balanced with an excellent head and expression. Carries himself with pride although did not project himself as much as the first.
3rd. Waites’s Bynton Minstrel of Svendalens
Minor Puppy Dog. 2
1st Moore’s Fincham Trade Wind. 6 month old. Well put together black spotted youngster who shows great promise. Very nice masculine head with dark eyes. Strong bone and good substance. Carried himself well with a good action. Lovely tail carriage.
2nd. Clement’s Tyrodal Caracal at Caldecacre. 7month old. Heavier build than first. A nicely decorated black spotted male with a happy outlook. Moved steadily.
Puppy Dog. 3
1st Kembrey’s Dalmark the Show Stormer. A young black spotted dog of 11 months. Very promising puppy with a good action on the move. Good head with dark eyes and very good front. Level topline, good stifle, strong hocks and well placed and carried tail.
2nd Stokes’s Elaridge Quincie. A young liver dog of sound construction. Very well balanced with strong bones and good muscle. Difficult to assess his movement. I’m sure he just needs time to gain in confidence to show off his many excellent points.
