LKA 2015 Judged by Paul Hipkiss
I would thank you all for the honour of allowing me to go over your Dalmatians. Many were new to me and others I had seen only a year ago. It was rewarding to be able to go over some of the youngsters that I judged last year and see how they had matured, and also see a new batch of promising youngsters.
Dalmatians should be capable of maintaining a trotting pace over long distances. This requires tight tough padded feet and firm muscles to support the effort required to fulfil this function. Noteworthy is that the highest placed exhibits were so blessed, a testament to the effort of their owners to get the best out of their Dalmatians. Some exhibits lacked both muscle tone and tight feet and were thus a little “loose” on the move which affected placings.
I was pleased with the depth of quality amongst the main winners in both the dog and bitch classes, and to see the Best of Breed winner make the final cut in the group.

Rear angulation is just so and enables her to move with real drive to match the excellent reach at the front. Movement in the ring was impossible to fault. Overall, such a complete picture of what I was looking for in the breed. Delighted to award her the Bitch CC and Best of Breed
2. Alexander’s Offordale Larissa.
