DOGS
– Thank you all for such a lovely entry, it was an honour & pleasure to go over such happy dogs. The lower classes were a challenge with varying types, sizes & stages of development very evident. But that does not mean the quality is not there, it is, I had many good youngsters & both of my top winners are under two. Very promising for the future.

MP (4,2a)

1 Large & Davies’ Castletop Bootlegger, almost 9 months black spot. Lovely clean clear spotting, nice head spotty face, dark eye, shapely & in lovely condition. Clean wither, good topline & tailset. Novice handler & dog need confidence to work together which will come with practice. Promising;
2 Hobbs & Whiting’s Rapanooey Sun Spo t, slightly younger liver spot. Longer in back & head still developing. Not yet comfortable in the ring, but his experienced handler will help him. Well filled chest, good bone & substance, steady mover. Needs time.

P (5,1)

1 C Bootlegger;
2 R Sun Spot;
3 Gibb’s Phadante Mr Blue Sky.

J
(6,2)

1 Whincup’s Tamilanda Midnight Lily, just out of puppy this b/w boy makes a good impression. Well spotted, well boned, nice front, topline & bend of stifle. Good movement coming & going & lovely length of stride. Fit condition. Mature for his age;
2 Harris’ Dalkiss Harvest Moon, similar age to 1 but not as forward. Beautifully marked b/w, elegant & finer boned, lovely stride in profile but coming & going needs some ring training to assess movement as he pulls away & spoils his front;
3 P Mr Blue Sky.

Y
(4)

1 Neath-Duggan & Baker’s Buffrey Incognito by Dalleaf, b/s enthusiastic showman which can mean he stands over extended. Has a good front & well boned down to good feet, nice head shape & ear carriage, clean wither, good topline & neat tuck up. Classy mover;
2 Quayle’s Cubalibre On It, powerful but elegant b/w young man, super mover all round with lovely tail carriage. Well filled front with lots of bone & substance. Just need to find his best bib & tucker;
3 D Harvest Moon.

N
(6)

1 D Harvest Moon;
2 Baker’s Dalmaigheo Love Is The Drug
, neat, compact liver boy in good hard condition. Shows & moves well & very attentive to his expert handler. Nice make & shape, shame about his coat issues;
3 P Mr Blue Sky.

G
(3,1)

1 Littler’s Dalmark The Wizard Of Oz, liver boy typical of this well known kennel. Beautiful spotty face, head & ear carriage, clean neck, lovely front with good forechest, correct topline, tailset & carriage. Excellent steady mover although I would like to see him moved faster & extend his stride. A classic example of the breed;
2 Baker’s Lancelot Des Landes D’Iroise, charming spotty black boy, rangy type, good front, longer cast with lovely bend of stifle. Correct underline but topline drops off a little over the croup so tailset rather low.

PG (10,3)

1 C On It;
2 Donnelly’s Tamilanda Berry Ice Lily
, lightly spotted mature black dog. Taller type with good movement. Deep chest, tidy tuck-up, well muscled, good bone & feet. Tends to fly his ears which alters his expression;
3 Hurst’s Philcarthom Xcaliber at Finnidal.

ML
(2,1w/d)

1 Hobbs & Whiting’s Boutonneux Baby Buc avec Rapanooey, mature b/w boy. Expertly handled this charming boy really makes the most of his qualities. Well spotted, fit, beautiful head shape with dark eyes, soft expression & well carried ears. Arched neck, lovely topline & tailset, good movement at the right pace. Easy to assess & lots to like. Not flashy but sound.

L (7,1)

1 Christie’s Sophtspot Gold Dust, stunning liver boy, not yet 2 & already powerful but elegant. What set this dog apart for me is his lovely outline & beautiful head & expression. Clean neck into great shoulders, well boned down to good feet. Great front extension. Firm topline to strong hindquarters which he uses to advantage. Driving round the ring, he never put a foot wrong & is wonderfully responsive to his expert handler. Everything came together in the challenge & I was delighted to award him the CC, I was thrilled when the referee judged him BIS; 2 Gardinor’s Jamelsley Pyracantha at Dakata, have watched this b/s boy with interest as he has matured. Just my type, he has similar qualities to 1. Lovely body shape, good head, well made front & hindquarters. Struggling with his coat at the moment he is also inclined to stand over extended & not as positive on the move. Do hope he fulfils his promise;
3 Tingey’s Dallyador Aramis.

O
(7,1,1w/d)

1 Goff-Leggett’s Washakie Shoshone Chief, for 40 years I have loved the dogs produced by this kennel & this boy is no different. B/w with great character, stunning spotting, gorgeous head & kindest expression in his dark eyes. Strong bone, good feet, body shape, front & hindquarters, bend of stifle & muscletone. Had to split hairs in the challenge & it came down to length of stride in the final movement. RCC;
2 Dodds & Pearson’s Kelevra Hudson Hawk
, what a nice b/w dog, not flashy or overdone but lovely type, sound mover, in fit hard condition, balanced & well boned, good feet, immaculate coat. Well handled;
3 Tolutim’s Yves St Laurent at Judally.

Memorial
(4)

1 Alexander’s Ch Offordale Chevalier, very little that is new can be said about this top winning example of the breed. Now 6, mature, settled & confident he is a strong mover with long stride. Has front with width & depth, level topline, tail, set & carried perfectly. Well muscled & immaculately presented, I love his head & kind expression. In the challenge unlucky to meet two rising stars but still at the top of his game & pushed hard;
2 Whincup’s Ch Tamilanda Panther Lily, another top winning black boy in hard condition. Proud & confident he makes the most of himself. Powerful front, good round hindquarters & great bend of stifle. Shorter coupled than 1;
3 Lews’ Dalpetro D’Artagnan of Hunterwood, third in this class but went on to become BVD & BVIS. This beautiful boy held his own in this strong class then came in to challenge for best veteran. Kindest expression, strong positive mover, excellent coat & condition a credit to his owner. Fit & happy, just goes to prove, age is just a number in our breed.

JV (4)

1 Hartley & Griffith’s Ch Creaganbrec The Favourite at Miragua, well known & worthy champion enjoying his days in veteran. Excellent condition, moving well with enthusiasm. Good bone & feet, dark eye & nice head & ear carriage;
2 Whiting’s Cibrith Captain Kirk, can’t believe this black boy is a veteran. Ultra smart & neat. Excellent topline & underline, feet & coat condition. Immaculate;
3 Croft’s Doubtwell Show Stopper.

SV
(2,1)

1 Baker’s Oneowun Ohio, 10 year old black boy, spots clear & coat immaculate. Fit & wagging his tail, enjoying his day out with his proud owner. Lovely picture.

BITCHES

I would like to thank the exhibitors for fetching their bitches for me to judge and to the Committee for looking after me so well, not forgetting, my two Stewards, Stef Kazana and Sue Sibson.
Overall I found temperament very good but we need to keep an eye on movement as some were close at the rear, some with long nails and one or two overweight
