British Dalmatian Club May Open Show 2018
5th May – Mrs Maria Hobbs (Rapanooey)
These are my thoughts of the Dalmatians presented to me for judging on the above date and here is my assessment based on what I observed on the day. It was a hot day yet I am so pleased that all exhibits did not falter in the hall and gave their best. The task was made easier with efficient stewards Jenny and Lynne. Thankyou
Class 1 – Minor Puppy Dog 2(0)
1st Finlays’ Dalfin Actual Fact Nicely marked black spotted puppy equal in angles who won the class on his true forward and aft movement if a little tail proud on profile but covers the ground in a long stride. Stands four square and shows himself off nicely for this handler.
2nd Holland and Millington’s Capearlla It’s On IceBlack puppy who came up close to first but not as settled on the move coming towards but very nicely put together with excellent deep chest and plenty of room between his front legs. Stands together more compact Lovely head
Class 2 – Puppy 4(1)
1st Todd-Hunter’s Millbelle Rocky Mountian
up to size liver dog showing maturity for a young puppy who had a lot of substance in bone and stride. Front stride is excellent pushed behind with the right amount of drive with moderate angulation in the rear. Very masculine
2nd O’Connor’s Dalamanti Diamond Raider
Not such a confident puppy with an excellent deep chest but won his place on his lovely topline. Well developed front shorter in leg but convers the ground with good forward movement

1st Thorne’s Spotiray Billy Elliot Of Castletop
Beautifully decorated and very showy who moved ok yet confident in demeanour Beautiful head framed by excellent ear placement with a very good shoulder placement that fell over compact feet.
2nd Millington’s Capearlla Pure Diamonds
Beautifully formed excellent decoration compact and not over done in angles

1st Healey’s Doshaburi The Cloud Dragon At Hememor JW
Very imposing liver dog who gave everything in his front assembly, deepest chest with excellent lay of shoulder. Attractive spotting with nice eye pigment excelled in front
2nd Christie’s Laguna Dios Free Falcon By Sophtspot (Imp BLR)
More settled in this class who was pipped for first, used his ears and good tail carriage on side movement. Long striding every inch masculine with excellent bone and beautiful front forechest. Equalled up in angles giving a level topline

1st Capearlla Pure Diamonds
Class 6 – Novice Dog 2 (1)
1st Cole’s Keiradal le Coup de Foudre
Good black who had a nice wide front, and correct head. Lots of deep pigment makes this dog quite eye catching
Class 7 – Gradute Dog 4 (1)
1st Gardinor’s Dakata Duranta
Nicely put together lighter in bone but was eye catching in cleanness and decoration Moved out well with nice feet and excellent tail carriage. Attractive head. Steady moving away and back, Elegant
2nd Thorne’s Spotiray Billy Elliot Of Castletop Held his own but not as balanced as the 1st place
3rd Barry’s Kalokairie’s Crowd Pleaser
Heavier spotted black with substantial growth but capable.
Class 8 – Post Graduate Dog 6(1)
1st Green and Sear’s Boschendal Simply Red at Judally
Easily won on his movement with easy on the eye colouring liver . Liked his substance and muscle tone, Strode out with purpose and drive. Good hocks
2nd Hernandez’s Dalminshi Starlite Express JW
Excells in front with lovely flowing neck into nicely placed shoulders, giving way to straight legs and good feet. Not too bad in profile Black with good ear carriage
3rd Baker’s Lancelot Des Landes D’iroise (Imp FRA)
Attractive spotted with beautiful head, very good pigment. Eye catching in profile not as good as 2 going away and back. Lots of bone and substance
Class 9 – Limit Dog 10(1)
1st Croft and Cobb’s Kalokairie’s Bullet Proof
Striding out young liver dog who won on movement and comformatiltity. Well muscled in his forechest and over his forearm. Despite a warm day never stopped showing on each ask showing his attractive head, An imposing endurance dog fit for purpose with excellent liver colour. Equal in angulation, correct over slight raise in loin, proud tail on move that equalled out on the stand BD
2nd Whincup’s Tamilanda Midnight Lilly JW
Black that fills the eye with deep pigment quality throughout in every angle, straight legs with nice chest width. Up to size and elegant in demeanour. Covered the ground rhythmically with economy in stride for endurance
3rd Gibb’s Phadante Mr Blue Sky JW
Shorter coupled, with a wide chest. Very attractive in his outline and substantial in body. Nicely marked moved true in stride. Nice eyes and good in ear carriage
Class 10 – Open Dog 3(0)
1st Poulain’s GIB/PORT/ESP CH DR Portoladoa Celtic Mysteries
Small and perfectly formed male who displayed durability in muscle and maturity. Nice laid shoulders equalling bend in rear that allowed excellent side gait. Deep black colour. Pushed hard in challenge.
2nd McCarthy’s FR CH Domdallino Je Suis Kildandy JW
Pleasing in head liver attractive spotting, higher in croup but settles . Shows elegance and put together nicely
3rd Bolt’s Fakenham Ferrera Rocher
Better mover than 2 but not in best coat. Up for size liver yet displayed fit and purpose for running all day. Attentive and outgoing
Class 11 – Special Junior Veteran Dog 3(0)
1st Todd-Hunter’s CH Millbelle Young Gun JW
No hints of age in this exuberant liver showing quality and character , free movement good liver colour nice tail and shoulder. Everything together, Fab masculine head
2nd Whiting’s Cibrith Captian Kirk JW ShCM
Striking upstanding black dog with perfect decoration held his own. Moved nicely and very elegant Attractive head
3rd Alcock’s Creaganrec Face Of Beau At Dalspartan ShCM
Nice liver who may not have been exuberant but performed well for his handler .
Class 12 – Special Senior Veteran Dog 1(0)
1st Baker’s Oneowun Ohio
Swansong for a great black gentleman who still wanted to show for his handler. Nicely laid shoulders and deepest pigment. Nicely muscled and wagging his tail.
Class 13 – Minor Puppy Bitch 3 (0)
1st Watts and Jackson Peatling’s Tamilanda Continental Song
Compact attractive black with excellent coupling, straight front legs and well made rear defining her angulation, sufficient bend of stifle, giving an overall impression of balance. Plenty of bone yet still feminine, ample chest room, attentive to her handler with a pretty head frame by nice ear placement. Moved well once settled, collected. Tight in elbow
2nd Bartholomew’s Tamilanda Continental Lilly
Longer cast than one, nice raise in coup. Good cat feet and nicely spotted ears. Well laid down hocks, dark eye
3rd Morgan’s Malbreow Wish Upon A Star
well up for size black who moved well. Slight hesitancy but shows promise.
Class 14 – Puppy Bitch 4(0)
1st Watts and Jackson Peatling’s Tamilanda Continental Song
2nd Wright’s Millbelle Fernie
Stands beautifully four square without overdoing herself. Not in best coat Her front extension on the move is the best. Preferred the tail set on 1. All in moderation and nicely balanced.
3rd Hajeen and Tidcombe’s Castletop Summer Breeze
Well rounded in chest, shorter coupled but balanced in angles. Pretty head, good ears and broad skull. Little erratic on move today but shows promise
Class 15 – Junior Bitch 1(0)
1st Cole’s Keiradal Moulin Rouge
Deep chested nice tight feet and the deepest black colour with correct eyes. Well rounded on croup and has nice second thigh. Tight feet
Class 16 – Yearling Bitch 8(0)
1st Gardner’s Dvojica Chilli Chutney For Wrendragge JW
Beautifully spotted quality liver who was her best form today. She excels in balance with a great rhythmic stride, allowing her economy in movement. Not overdone in anyway, she has excellent reach of neck flowing into correct shoulder placement down to cat feet. Her body ratios are correct with just enough rise croup that gives her drive from well laid down hocks. To top it all she was showing her heart out, deserving her the class and eventual best in show BIS
2nd Neath-Duggan and Baker’s Buffrey Hanky Panky By Dalleaf JW
Nicely put together symmetrical to the eye and displaying quality in her make and shape. Not over done in any way, eye catching in her decoration, and good movement. Slightly shorter than one, yet very elegant
3rd Davie’s Maddidalli Embres Glow
Well up for size yet has everything in the right place with pleasing decoration, Good deep chest and turn of stifle, she has matured into a nice bitch

1st Bolt’s Gemmont Native Dancer
Happy and out going black who moved nicely and showed very well. Liked her head and she went away and back true.
2nd Littler and Kembrey’s Dalmark The Kir Royale
Not as confident yet excels in side gait, if a little erratic . Correct in liver shade and eye colour with a pretty head with nice ear placement .

1st Sampson’s Dalstorm Eternal Promise JW
Substantial liver who took her way to the top with her exuberance and striking movement. In hard condition won easily with everything in proportion from her lovely ears that framed her pretty head to her strong tail set but provided her good balance. Pushed for top
2nd Chattaway’s Shydally’s Dahlia
The more you look at her the more you like her. Shorter in leg and body, she displays excellent pigment and moved really well. Eye colour correct, stop and beautiful lips. Just enough width for front but angles matched up giving her a fabulous topline
3rd Jenning’s and Ridgways’s Luccombe Strawberry Kisses
Nice bitch who scored on her side movement, although she did like to cut corners! Liked her head and shoulder placement
Class 20 – Post Graduate Bitch 5(0)
1st Ridgway’s Luccombe Strawberry Royale
Nice level topline on this nicely marked black good condition with tight feet, longer in muzzle, but loved her feminine framed head with well erected ears. Correct tail carriage
2nd Brennan’s Daymadlas In The Mood JW ShCM
Deeper and wider in front preferred front movement on one but otherwise very showy girl with excellent tail carriage, confident and fit .
3rd Cole’s Keirdal Mel’s Destiny
Heavier marked liver who scored in her body shape and overall outline. Good feet and nice markings on her head
Class 21 – Limit Bitch 10 (4)
1st Wareham’s Tamilanda Blue Water Lilly At Dotsadaisy
Blew the competition away with her hard condition, not over muscled yet a dream to go over. She carried her head like a true carriage dog, yet defining elegance to her gait. She is attractive with nice body shape, going away true and back. On her toes
2nd Whincup’s Tamilanda Pick-A-Lilly JW
Heavier yet very nicely decorated showing lots of substance, Well developed in her rear, and nicely tucked in with her elbow. Nice even front
3rd Cobb and Croft’s Kalokairie’s Barberella From Koroyza
Showing lots of quality a liver girl can display, her colouring shade excellent, with her body ratios and good bone, endurance to go all day.
Class 22 – Open Bitch 6(2)
1st Morgan’s Winflash Olympic Star JW ShCM
Very pretty and feminine she fools you into thinking she is a diva, yet moves with such purpose and drive, flies round which to her is a normal pace. Good front and one of a the prettiest heads Pushed hard against 2nd in yearling top. Loads to like
2nd Bolt’s Boutonneux Galathea At Gemmont
Longer cast that gives her the best toplines today. Lighter black spotted with a nice stop with good ear placement. Liked her rear drive very steady stride.
3rd Thorner’s Tolutim Evensong At Naracoopa ShCM
Nicely put together black who was a good condition
Class 23 – Special Junior Veteran Bitch 6(3)
1st Gibb’s CH Phadanta Dixie Lily JW
Quality black who still moves like a youngster, covering with ground with her speedy gait. Deep chested she shows like a pro who achieves her demenour with elegance and class. Kind eyes
2nd Healey’s Hebemor Spice Dice AW (B)
Beautiful liver girl who showed beautifully for her handler if not as spritely as first today. Still holding a good topline
3rd Thorner’s CH Tolutim Drambuie ShCM
Nice black still with tidy feet and nice tail carriage on the profile .
Class 24 – Special Senior Veteran Bitch 3(0)
1st Wright’s Angelic Aphrodite For Millbelle JW ShCM
Despite her years she showed herself with excitement at being out, Such a feminine head, beautiful head sloping into correct shoulders, with a really nice spring of rib, . Her movement is fulid and bend of stifle still strong. Her coat reflects her age but shows quality in her make and shape any day. BVIS
2nd Whiting’s Cibrith China Aster ShCM
Alert and attractive quality liver who doesn’t show her age. Nice size and shape with good muscle tone and nice sloping angles in her shoulder placement
3rd Davie’s Tolutim Zaffre
Attactive black with great pigment and good ear carriage and nicely shaped head.
Class 25 – Brace 4(2)
1st Mr C & Mrs A E Healey
Achieved the best result between the two pairs by showing union of this liver dog and bitch. Expertly handled
2nd Mr S & Mrs D Morgan
Mum and daughter blacks enjoying the novelty of moving around the ring tighter but not quite as unison as the first two. Fun to watch
