DOGS
I would like to thank the North of England Dalmatian Club for inviting me to judge the dogs at this show. I would also like to thank my stewards, Chris and Wendy Toynton.
I was very surprised to find that many of the dogs had serious coat problems, rather more than usual. I have always been of the opinion that skin problems only occur in the young stock, but not today, some of the more mature dogs also had problems.

Bitches
It was a great pleasure and honour to judge the bitches at this Show. Thank you to the exhibitors for your entries and to the Committee for a well organised Show which appeared to be enjoyed by all who attended.
I found the quality to be generally very good. There are some lovely puppies coming through and I wish them a successful show career. Almost without exception I found all exhibits to be of good and happy demeanour. All were presented in clean, hard condition although there was some evidence of the dreaded ‘dally rash’ which influenced some of my placings.
Shoulder placement was disappointing in some exhibits. They lack the length in the upper arm and present themselves with a short stilted front movement and are unable to achieve the smooth rhythmic action required of the breed. Perhaps this is something of which to be mindful.
