I would like to thank my two excellent stewards who were just brilliant.
This was an interesting judging assignment, and whilst I was delighted in the main with my winners and highly placed Dalmatians I was dismayed to see such variance in type both in the bitches as well as the dogs something this time I was more aware than on previous judging appointments.
Some exhibits are just too fine, the Dalmatian is a dog built to go behind a horse, he needs strength and endurance, equally we do not want cloddy and heavy animals but somewhere in between is the ideal. Many dogs moved well in profile but on the up and down were not true either close behind or flinging a hock out or toeing in coming towards me.Ticking and missing pigment also needs to be watched. On the plus side temperaments were excellent and this is my number one priority always, coats were very good with little Dally rash in evidence.so a pleasure to have so many happy Dallies to go over.
