Birmingham National 2013 Judged by Mr R H Gregory
This is the 24th occasion I have awarded CCs in the breed in the UK, during which time I have seen many changes in the breed.
On my last appointment for dogs I stated that judging dogs was like judging AV Dalmatians. The only thing they had in common was the spots.
Congratulations this time as I find greater uniformity in dogs & in particular very encouraging in some of the younger stock.

MPD (2)

1 Vockings & Smethurst's Fortunes Green Day,
7 months, little more together than 2, good outline, loved his head & expression, clean neck to wither, topline & carrying good bone;
2 Graham-Weall's Theakston Touch Of Class of Phidgity, at only 6 months this young man has potential, but so raw & immature. Good outline, clean elegant lines, much to like, just needing time.

PD (8)

1 Williams' Dalesbred Wish Granted,
10 months liver, good outline, & grace & power, clean lines, good top development at withers, puts it all together well in action but not the length in upper arm;
2 Hobbs & Whiting's Boutonneux Baby Buco avec Rapanooey, not quite the outline & presence of 1 but a pleasing type, good head & carriage, filling well in body, good balance in angles, pleasing action;
3 Kembrey's Dalmark The Pinot Grigio.

JD (10)

1 Dunnachie's Dvojica Vendetta,
stands & moves the part with a super outline, one I considered for higher honours. Good balance, not too overdone, strong well set neck, good ribbing & bone, should have a good future;
2 Green & Sears' Tolutim Yves St Laurent at Judally, this liver quite took my eye with his colour, good size, balance & carriage, sound & well put together body & quarters well muscled, good action;
3 Clarke's Klarkeson One Vision.

GD (7)

1 Pratt's Gwynmor Finch Hatton at Solostar,
this dog really caught my eye & possibly the soundest dog here, but could make more of himself & handler. Has so much to offer from head to tail, sound in body, correct angle in quarters & so true in action fore & aft. RCC;
2 Cuthbertson's Kalsidoni Cameo,
another of similar type but not quite the same body proportions, stands well, good outline & carriage, good wither & forechest, correct topline, correct angle & pleasing action;
3 Cousins' Kalokairie's Lord Ladies Man at Dallywest.

PGD (6)

1 Bolt's Fakenham Ferrera Rocher,
this liver boy won the class on his presence & action, though not a strong class this dog best fit the Standard, clean neck, good topline & tailset, correct spring of ribs, good dentition & best action;
2 Cobb-McGill's Alphadirato Kalokairie, dog of pleasing type but picture spoiled with tail set a little high for the croup. Strong head & skull, good ribbing & well muscled body, another who pushed hard in action;
3 Lamb's Dalpetro Decaprio.

LD (5)

1 Harrison- Stratford's Dalkereve Dark Dragon,
liver with size, style & presence, elegant in outline with good carriage, sound body & ribbing but again that shorter upper arm, pleasing action;
2 Whincup & Sibson's Tamilanda Vintage Pink, not quite the size or presence of 1, but pleasing to go over, another who failed in upper arm, short but well ribbed, good topline with gentle fall in croup, well handled, moved well;
3 Page's Winflash Harvey Wallbanger.

OD (9)

1 Alexander's Ch Offordale Chevalier,
he won a junior when I last went over him & he has really come on & can understand why he has won so much, standing he catches the eye with his strength yet elegance & outline, sound strong body with powerful angulation & quarters, has lovely profile action. CC, BOB & G2;
2 Croft's Doubtwell Show Stopper,
much to like in style & outline, dog of similar type, clean lines & dense black pigment, good markings, pleasing action but not best handler;
3 Goff-Leggett's Ch Washakie Nutcracker Prince.

2 Graham-Weall's Theakston Touch Of Magic for Phidgity, just the baby but so sound & well put together, just 6 months she has a long way to go but her quality shone through, when settled in action sound & true, but so much the baby which I forgave;
3 Ford's Kayjule Olympic Gold.
