S WALES CH SHOW, 07/10/16
Dalmatians
A variety of types, I was very pleased with the winners. The really good movers stood out in the competition.
MPD (1)
1 Rapanooey Sun Spot, attractive, powerful, masculine liver puppy, well developed for his age. Typical, well proportioned head. Strong neck. Moderately angulated in front, he has a well developed forechest for a puppy & a capacious brisket. Firm topline, well set tail. Moved with suppleness & energy & reasonably stable coming & going. Well spotted.
PD (5)
1 Tamilanda Midnight Lilly, well proportioned & well balanced dog with power & masculinity, still elegant. Attractive head, even if I would prefer some more stop. Strong neck. Well angulated in front with good forechest & return of upper arm. Deep chest without scarifying length of leg. Firm topline. Balanced angulation in front & behind. He kept his balanced very nicely in movement from the side, however with a tendency to side track. Beautiful black spotting. BP;
2 R Sun Spot;
3 Phadante Mr Blue Sky.
JD (4,1a)
1 P Mr Blue Sky, an athletic dog who came into himself in movement, especially from the side. Masculine head, good skull, I would prefer better fill under the eyes. Dark eyes. Could do with less loose skin around his neck. Otherwise quite pleasing neck. He needs to gain some more length of leg for an adult balance. Firm topline, very good tailset. Good bone. Was third in the previous class, but won this class with something in hand on his movement;
2 Boschendal Simply Red at Judally, well spotted liver coloured dog who gives an attractive impression standing still with his well balanced silhouette. Typical head, excellent ears. Moderate angulated in front. Well developed in body. Unfortunately rather cow hocked & could not compete with the winner in movement;
3 Kalokairie’s Bullet Proof.
PGD (6,1)
1 Cubalibre On It, powerful, masculine dog with an attractive personality. Masculine head, well shaped, but needs to dry out in his lips. Strong neck. Moderately angulated both ends, I would have preferred a bit more, but he balanced out. Excellent depth of chest, topline & tailset. He moved with an attractive balance. Well marked with black spots;
2 Elabri Encre Noir at Pirandal, another attractive b/s, masculine dog. Not quite as developed as the winner, but he also has power. Attractive head. Deep & capacious chest. Balanced angulation in front & behind. Falls away too much over the croup & carries his tail too gaily in movement. Well spotted;
3 Gemmont Secretariat by Fakenham.
LD (7,2)
1 Sophtspot Gold Dust, a l/s dog with excellent type & quality, he is very easy on the eye & much the type I am looking for. Attractive, masculine head & excellent expression. Long & strong neck with an arch. Deep chest, firm topline. Well angulated both ends. Well spotted. Somewhat overly enthusiastic in movement, but has excellent drive, & given time & opportunity, he settled enough also in his front movement. I was pleased to hear that he was made up a champion on the day. CC;
2 Boutonneux Baby Buco avec Rapanooey, another very attractive dog, both for type & proportions. Typical male head. Moderate neck. Straighter in upper arm. Excellent topline. Good bone. Moved with balance & excellent drive behind, but with rather limited extension in front;
3 Winflash Hugo Boss.
OD (9,4)
1 Ch Tamilanda Panther Lilly, well balanced, definitely masculine dog with attractive quality. Very typical head & expression. Strong neck. Very good forechest & upper arm. Balanced angulation behind. He made an attractive silhouette standing, still not quite as impressive as the winner of the previous class in the challenge. Well spotted. A sound mover from all angles, very well handled to get the best out of him. It is amazing how well this dog has developed since the last time I judged him, I was pleased to have another opportunity. RCC;
2 Tolutim Yves St Laurant at Judally, well developed, powerful male with a very attractive type & overall quality, even if not quite as instantly eyecatching as the winner. Quality head, moderate neck. Moderate, but balanced angulation both ends. Well spotted. He moved medium well, but at all times kept his overall attractive balance;
3 Fakenham Ferrera Rocher.
VD (1)
1 Phadante Brightonrock, masculine dog in very good condition for his age. Lovely expression. Pleasing neck. Very moderately angulated in front. Deep chest. He tended to fall off a bit in his outline. Moved with plenty of energy & excellent drive, if rather high stepping in front & very proud of his tail.
GCD (1)
1 Stocklore Wizard Of The Forrest, quite well proportioned dog. I would prefer him more powerful & masculine which goes for his head as well. Beautiful eyes. Stood well over his legs & feet. Attractive spotting. Moved with enthusiasm, but could do with more drive.
MPB (1)
1 Dalstorm Eternal Promise, 7½ months & very much a puppy. Elegant & feminine. Pleasing expression, lovely temperament. Well set neck into shoulder & good layback of upper arm. Her topline needs to balance out as she is currently rather high behind, even more so in movement. Well spotted. Moved her legs normally, with soundness & efficiency.
PB (9,1)
1 Millbelle My Previous at Ribot, a very attractive bitch puppy, but somewhat of a challenge to handle & to judge as she is so full of life & enthusiasm & needs more training to focus her energy. Feminine head, rather large ears. Long neck, very well set. Very good front construction, well developed in her body & shapely. Well angulated behind. She has a lot of extension in movement both angles & moves with plenty of energy. Well spotted. Should have a really good future once she is more experienced in the show ring;
2 Spilmah Stella McCartney, an attractive, feminine bitch who also impressed in side movement, free & supple. Very elegant in head, needs to gain some more strength. Moderate bone. Very shapely & attractive in body silhouette. Very well handled. Not as good in front movement as the winner, but still a serious competitor;
3 Tamilanda Pick A Lilly.
JB (6,1)
1 Offordale Anastasia avec Millbelle, instantly very attractive bitch of excellent type & quality, she really filled my eye standing. Excellent head & expression. Lovely neck, well shaped & set. Good front for her age. Just a lovely body silhouette. Well angulated behind. Very well spotted. The handler kept moving her too fast for her capacity, & she needs to stabilise as seen from behind, but if this can be improved, she will indeed be difficult to beat;
2 Vivienne Westwood by Winflash, another beautiful bitch with a very attractive silhouette, but not nearly as sound in front as the winner. Lovely neck into shoulder, topline & outline. Moved with excellent drive, but has quite a lot of stabilising to do in front;
3 Kalokairie’s Barbarella from Koroyza.
PGB (5,3)
1 Gwynmor High Five to Hunacres, strong, powerful bitch, still feminine & elegant. Attractive head, excellent ears & expression. Strong neck. Balanced angulation in front & behind. Just enough length of leg, good bone. A moderate, but sound mover from all angles. Well spotted;
2 Macula Moonlight Mystique, strong bitch, just feminine enough. Too much stop & rather round in skull for my preference. Dark eyes. Attractive topline. Not enough forechest which does not offer enough support for her front movement.
LB (8,1) Two lovely bitches in this class, not dissimilar, but again the winner had the better front.
1 Sophtspot Glitterati, beautiful bitch, instantly attractive & very typy, the star of the day. I would not like her any taller, but she is definitely feminine. Well shaped & proportioned head, full of expression. Beautiful, crested neck, well set into shoulder. Balanced angulation in front & behind. Ideal topline & tailset. Sound, well balanced mover from all angles with drive & power. Well distributed black spots. She made a lovely pair with her brother in the final competition, I was delighted to award her the CC & BOB;
2 Winflash Prada Candy Kiss, another well proportioned bitch with a lovely silhouette. Elegant, feminine head, I would not want her any longer in muzzle. Lovely neck, but could do with more layback of upper arm. Still she moved particularly well from the side & from behind. Lovely black spots. Very well handled;
3 Buffrey Hey Diddle Diddle.
OB (5,1)
1 Dvojica Black Swan at Dalfin, another very attractive bitch, again I would not like her any taller, but she is definitely feminine & elegant, & not unlike the winner in the last class. Well chiselled head, lovely expression. Long, well set neck. Could do with some more forechest. Attractive topline which flows well, slightly low set tail. Beautiful black spots. Ideal coat. In excellent condition, she was a sound mover from all directions. RCC;
2 Int/Dutch Ch Jezebel The Astonishing Sophtspot, spectacular & very showy bitch with a lovely silhouette & of a type that appeals a lot to me. Powerful head, attractive expression. Strong neck, somewhat sharply set into withers. Deep & capacious body. Well angulated both ends. Moved with plenty of energy & drive, but too wide behind;
3 Ch Dalliviro Reba Mac at Ellemstra.
VB (4)
1 Ch Phandante Dixie Lily, very athletic & well marked b/s bitch. Expressive head. Attractive neck. Moderately angulated in front. Firm topline. Well angulated behind. Even at her advanced age, she moved with excellent drive, almost too enthusiastic for her own good. BV;
2 Angelic Aprhodite for Millbelle, elegant, feminine bitch with quality & a lovely shape. I would prefer some more bone. Well spotted, but with some smaller spots to boost. Moved with style, enthusiasm & good drive;
3 Ch Tolutim Drambuie. GCB (1) 1 D Eternal Promise.
