Thank you to the Boston Society for asking me to Dalmatians a year early due to the illness of Irene Haywood. Also thanks go to Bruce Jackson for his efficient handling of the ring.
Many of the dogs were new to me not having judged for 3 years.
All dogs were shown in sparkling condition. Teeth were difficult to examine due to food being held in the handler’s hand.
A good percentage of the entry were not in hard muscular condition. I was aware at this judging appointment of the requirement in the Breed Standard for a “Carriage Dog” and did you know that the distance test in the Gold Carriage Dog or Gold Road Dog competition is 40 kms or 25 miles? What is your Carriage Dog capable of??
