Leeds 2017 Judged by Mrs P L Dickson
Leeds Championship Show

Dalmatians

Firstly many thanks to my 2 able Stewards, who kept things running smoothly. Thank you to all for the entries & allowing me to judge your dogs. A good entry on paper (101 Dalmatians!!) Sadly there were a number of absentees. It has been some time since I last went to a dog show, therefore the majority of dogs were new to me. There were a number of high tails, which completely spoils the outline, and I was surprised how many short tails there were. Some exhibits were suffering from coat problems which affected my placings. However I had some lovely quality Dalmatians to go over, and I was delighted with my winners. I really did enjoy my day & the weather managed to stay dry for the breed judging.

1st & DCC Dunnachie’s Ch Dvojica Vendetta I judged this b/s dog when he was a youngster, I was really impressed with him then, he won his class but was beaten by more mature dogs in the challenge. In my humble opinion I think quality males do not reach their full potential until they are between 4 & 6 years of age. This one really proved my point, he has turned out to be a really excellent specimen of the breed. He has all the attributes I look for in a Dalmatian, lovely head, well arched neck, good deep chest & well ribbed back. He has excellent bone & well muscled but not overdone. He is made correctly both fore & aft & really drove out on the move, holding his excellent top line. Handled & shown to perfection.
2nd & RCC Neath-Duggan & Baker’s Ch Buffery Incognito By Dalleaf JW eye catching, handsome young dog. Jet black markings on a pure white coat, lovely head with super dark eyes. Good front & rear assembly, well let down hocks & moved with drive. A worthy champion, not yet 2 ½ yrs, I still think he has to reach his full potential.
3rd Page’s Winflash Hugo Boss.
